Full-Stack Mobile Engineer

At IXI, we’re on a mission to transform the way the world sees. Our IXI Adaptive Eyewear is revolutionizing the eyewear industry, bringing cutting-edge technology to vision correction. Our glasses are equipped with dynamic lenses, intelligent frames, and real-time gaze recognition, providing naturally sharp vision in any situation.
Our team of experts in optics, medical device engineering, consumer electronics, and design is united by a common goal: to break the limits of traditional eyewear and change the way glasses are made.
Join our team as a Full-Stack Mobile Engineer
We’re looking for a hands-on, product-focused mobile engineer to lead Android app development and contribute to code reviews and backend API integration. You’ll collaborate closely with our iOS lead to ensure architectural and feature parity across platforms—without relying on hybrid code. You’ll also help shape decisions around SDKs, API design, and calibration logic.
You’ll be part of a senior software team working across iOS, UX/UI, cloud, and QA to deliver a high-performance native mobile experience for a hardware product that’s genuinely mind-blowing.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead Android app development, architecture, and deployment using Kotlin.
- Integrate and optimize hardware-facing features, including camera APIs and ML SDKs.
- Collaborate with design to deliver smooth, pixel-perfect UX.
- Willingness to develop, document, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend integrations when needed.
- Evaluate and integrate 3rd-party SDKs (e.g. facetracking, sensor processing).
- Work closely with the iOS lead to review code, ensure parity, and share knowledge.
- Participate in agile sprint planning, backlog grooming, and cross-functional syncs.
We’re looking for someone with:
- 5+ years of Android development (native, Kotlin preferred).
- Solid understanding and experience of tapping into device hardware through i.e. Camera2 API, image processing, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with iOS (Swift or Objective-C) and ability to review / team up on iOS code.
- Experience integrating 3rd-party SDKs, including ML or vision libraries.
- Comfortable writing and consuming APIs (Node.js, Python, or similar a plus).
- Version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and agile tools.
- Comfortable in a small, lean (but not mean!), senior team.
- Proactive communicator, collaborative, and practical.
- Willing to step outside of Android when needed (e.g. backend tasks, iOS reviews).
Nice to have:
- Past experience with wearables, smart devices, or health tech.
- Worked on products with real-time processing or computer vision.
- Exposure to MediaPipe, ARKit etc.
What we offer:
- A key role at a deep tech company that is truly disrupting the eyewear market – now backed by $36.5M in Series A funding.
- Work with an innovative, growth-minded and international 50-person team that values openness, creativity and collaboration.
- Dynamic startup work environment with minimal bureaucracy and flexible working arrangements.
- Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package, including extended healthcare and benefits for lunch, sports, recreation, massage, and commuting.
- Opportunities for professional growth and career development.
- The freedom to select the tools and methods that help you to work effectively.
- An office located in an inspiring setting with numerous cultural and sports activities on site.
